Section
A scroll-driven gallery where layered artworks spread into a grid, revealing animated captions and metadata against a rich plum backdrop.
AFTERHOURS is an interactive artwork gallery that unfolds as visitors scroll. Eight overlapping, tilted images gradually spread into a four-column, two-row composition, creating a reveal controlled entirely by scrolling.
As the gallery opens, captions transition through filenames, categories, keywords, and artwork titles. An amber shimmer accompanies the message “Archive assembling...” before it resolves into “Archive illuminated.” Scrolling upward reverses the sequence, while the final reveal marks the natural end of the page.
A deep plum background, warm ivory typography, and original artwork give the section an editorial character. Architectural forms, chrome objects, flowing textiles, and surreal landscapes bring variety to the collection.
The one-shot build prompt includes a complete HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript implementation, precise motion instructions, and hosted artwork assets. It requires no animation library or backend, making it a distinctive starting point for creative portfolios, digital collections, and studio showcases.
